Rapid City Health Care Worker With COVID-19 Had Contact With Est. 100 Patients


RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) – A Rapid City health care worker at Monument Health’s cancer care center now confirmed to have COVID-19 came into contact with an estimated 100 patients, 10 other staffers, and 2 doctors.

Monument Health, which changed its name from Regional Health last year, says the worker is now being treated at its facilities.

Most of the patients who came in contact with the work were in an ambulatory area and are considered high-risk if the contract COVID-19 because people undergoing cancer treatment have weakened immune symptoms.
