Rapid City Teen Charged With Manslaughter In Fatal Shooting

The Rapid City teenager accused of fatally shooting another teen Friday morning has been formally charged with 1st-degree manslaughter.

19-year old Nathan Gray Eagle remains in custody without bond in the shooting death of 16-year-old McKenzie Garreaux at a Rapid City apartment complex.

Details of the incident are lacking because the probable cause affidavit in the case has been sealed by the court, but police say they have recovered the gun believed to have been used.

Garreaux had been reported to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office as missing a week before she was found wounded last Friday.

She received emergency aid at the scene, but died later at a Rapid City Hospital.
