Ricketts Coming To Gordon To Talk About Biden’s “30×30” Initiative

Nebraska Gov Pete Ricketts has been busy in recent weeks touring the state in opposition to President Joe Biden’s “America the Beautiful” or “30×30” initiative.

The governor’s his next stop is in Gordon – tonight at 6:30 in the city auditorium. The meeting is open to all.

Ricketts says meetings like tonight’s in Gordon are about the most important thing he can be doing right now because of what he sees as the grave threat 30×30 poses to Nebraska.

“30×30”  is a Biden administration plan to conserve 30% of U.S. land by 2030. Ricketts insists it’s so big that there’s no way to reach that goal except by taking away local control.

USDA spokesman Kate Walters insists 30×30 is not a land grab, with protecting private property rights and supporting voluntary stewardship rights of private landowners at its core.

Ricketts says that’s just talk because his analysis of the numbers show the Biden’s goal can’t be met in Nebraska with just voluntary programs.

USDA’s Walters stands by her contention that when it comes to private land, 30×30 will use voluntary conservation programs based on or expanding existing ones that have been vital tools in conserving America’s lands and waters with lasting benefits.

Again, Gov Ricketts will speak on the 30×30 initiative tonight at 6:30 in the Gordon Civic Auditorium.
