The next COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Chadron is today from 11:00-1:30 at the Assumption Arena and it’s open to anyone over the age of 18.
Western Community Health Resources Director Sandy Roes Montague says because it’s the Moderna vaccine, 18 is the bottom age. The Pfizer vaccine can be given to those as young as 16.
Sandy says individuals must still register in advance to get an appointment time with a new online link www.signupgenius.com/go/9040a4cadab2ea7ff2-dawes1.
Individuals needing assistance to complete the process can call the Western Community Health Resources office at 308-432-8979 and someone will be happy to help them.
Gov Pete Ricketts, who’s been urging all Nebraskans to register and get vaccinated as soon as they’re eligible, proudly announced yesterday he’ll get his first shot on Saturday.
Where you go to get vaccinated is based on your legal address and not where you work or a living temporarily, which is why Ricketts is getting his shot in Omaha. First Lady Susanne Shore got her first shot there yesterday.
On Monday all local public health districts across the state will be able to decide if their service area is ready to open the shots to all those over 16 or 18, depending on which vaccine they have.
