Rollover Accident Thursday Near Kimball Claims One Life

     The Nebraska State Patrol says a Scottsbluff man was killed about 11:15 Thursday night in a rollover accident just north of Kimball.

36-year old Antony Coffey was pronounced dead at the scene.

       State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says the preliminary investigation into the accident shows Coffey was turning from Hwy 71 onto Hwy 41 when he over-corrected and his pickup rolled. Coffey was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. 

     Ironically, the accident occurred during the latest edition of the national Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign, which runs through June 5th. 

    The National Safety Council (NSC) estimates as many as 450 people may die on U-S roads this Memorial Day holiday period, which began Friday at 6:00 PM and runs until midnight Monday night.
