Room-And-Board 60% Refund At State Colleges

LINCOLN – With Chadron State, Wayne State, and Peru State Colleges dropping face-to-face instruction and using “remote delivery” only for classes through the end of the semester because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nebraska State College System is offering refunds to students who choose attend from home.

Students who complete the necessary paperwork will receive a 60% prorated refund from March 15 of room and board costs based on their individual residence hall arrangements and dining plan. Refunds will be processed according to the checkout date and applied to student accounts.

If the refund results in a credit balance, the amount of that credit balance will be sent to the student at their permanent address on file.

Students who do not notify their college of their intent to check out by the time classes resume next Monday, March 23, will be asked to communicate their plans to the residence life office

Students who check out and choose not to immediately remove their belongings from residence halls will be able to schedule a time to do so at a later date.

The State College System central office says it and the individual schools will continue to monitor and assess the COVID-19 situation in order to make the best decisions for students. To keep up-to-date on NSCS notifications regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, visit
