Scotts Bluff County Rollover Claims Life

GERING – Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman says a head-on collision on a county road shortly before 9:00 Saturday morning killed one person and sent another to the hospital. Names won’t be released until sometime Monday and the case remains an investigation.

Sheriff Overman says a preliminary investigation indicates that an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line on Highland Road shortly before 9:00 a-m and collided nearly head on with a westbound vehicle. Crews were on scene until about 2:15.

Responded to the accident were the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department, the Scottsbluff and Minatare/ Melbeta Fire Departments, Nebraska State Patrol, Minatare Police, Valley Ambulance, Airlink, Nebraska Game and Parks, the Scotts Bluff County Roads Department, and the County Attorneys Office.
