The man wanted for the shooting death of a woman in Scottsbluff Tuesday afternoon was shot and killed Saturday afternoon by police in Cheyenne.
     38-year-old Davin Saunders had been sought since shortly after the body of 60-year old Karen Cooper had been found in her home.
He had a history of violence and was considered armed and dangerous.
Scottsbluff-area authorities searched for Saunders Tuesday evening, only to learn he’d been in Cheyenne and had managed to elude police following a domestic violence incident at Walmart involving a gun.
       Cheyenne police say a residence where Saunders was believed to be had been under observation since Tuesday.Â
      Authorities obtained a warrant for the home and the Cheyenne Laramie County Joint SWAT Team entered the home about 12:30 PM Saturday.Â
Negotiators urged Saunders to surrender and come out, but he refused. Tear gas was fired into the home, but Saunders pulled a gun and officers shot him. He died at the scene.
Scottsbluff police have not released a motive for Saunders killing Cooper, but have said there was a family relationship between them.
