Single-Vehicle Rollover East Of Oelrichs Claims One Life Sunday

OELRICHS, S.D. – A single-vehicle accident around 7:45 Sunday evening on Highway 18 east of Oelrichs killed one man and sent a second to the hospital in Rapid City.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol has not released their identities, pending notification of family.

The Highway Patrol says the older model sedan was westbound about 8 miles east of Oelrichs when it left the roadway, went into the south ditch and rolled.

The 25-year old male driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old male passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transferred to a Rapid City hospital.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
