Smith Blasts House Impeachment Proceedings Vote

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) – 3rd District Congressman Adrian Smith, like all his Republican colleagues, voted against the House action yesterday to begin formal impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

In a written statement, Smith called it “a shame something as serious as an impeachment inquiry has been used for political games, adding that “this haphazard process has been skewed to fit Speaker Pelosi’s narrative from the beginning and it only hurts our great nation.”

Smith said that what he calls “this flawed vote” does not in any way “right the wrong of this illegitimately handled inquiry” begun with a month of closed-door, unilateral hearings.
