Source: Trump To Endorse Hageman Challenge To Cheney

A source speaking anonymously ahead of a formal announcement says former President Donald Trump has chosen his candidate to unseat Wyoming Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who voted for his impeachment over the Capitol riot.

Attorney and former gubernatorial candidate Harriet Hageman had talked about running for months, but didn’t officially enter the race until this week – when she also resigned as one of Wyoming’s 2 members of the Republican National Committee.

Hageman is a fourth-generation Wyomingite who grew up on a ranch and became a conservative activist and top land-use attorney.

She finished 3rd behind Mark Gordon in the 2018 GOP primary for governor.

Trump had most of Cheney’s primary election challengers, including Hageman, come to him this summer for interviews and promised to endorse one of them while urging the others to drop out to avoid splitting the vote against Cheney.

The endorsement, expected to be official in the near future, marks Trump’s most significant to date as he works to maintain his status as GOP kingmaker and make good on his threat to exact revenge on his critics.
