The South Dakota Commission on Gaming has adopted a revised set of rules needed to implement the constitutional amendment passed by voters last year allowing sports betting in Deadwood.
The legislature earlier this year passed an overall implementation bill allowing sports betting to start July 1st, but leaving it to the Gaming Commission to set the nuts-and-bolts rules for the industry.
The Commission added language for inspecting records for sports wagering equipment, prohibiting suppliers of the equipment from using it themselves or from making slot machines.
The revised rules now got to the Legislature’s Interim Rules Review Committee for final approval.
