It runs from 11:30-2:30 at the Assumption Arena with an online signup required at tinyurl.com/94uhpc6x. What makes the Chadron clinic different from earlier ones is that it’s open to anyone over 50 or in the Phase 1B job categories who haven’t registered yet with the state website vaccinate.ne.gov. Western Community Health Resources executive director Sandy Roes says health officials really want to fill all the available slots and get as many people as possible started on the 2-dose Moderna vaccine Nearly 574,000 doses of vaccine have been administered in Nebraska, including 14,553 in the Panhandle. Over 193,000 individuals or 13% of the state population over 16 have received both doses needed for maximum effectiveness. Meanwhile, Nebraska Health and Human Services yesterday reported 303 new cases and 2 deaths. There are 43,988 active cases, including 119 who are hospitalized with 203,890 total cases and 2,122 deaths since the pandemic began. Panhandle Unified Command reported 6 new cases, bringing the total to 8,783 with the number of deaths unchanged again at 186. The region has had only 93 cases in the last 14 days and 3 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. Dawes County had 1 new case and 729 total cases with 17 deaths, and 8 cases in the last 14 days. Box Butte County had 1 new case and 915 total with 5 in the last 2 weeks, and 8 deaths Sioux County’s totals haven’t changed for 3 weeks with 31 cases and 1 death. Sheridan County’s totals were not updated yesterday.
