State Fair Boss Steps Down, Cites Health Issues

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska State Fair Executive Director Lori Cox has resigned due to health reasons, but in a mutual agreement with the State Fair Board is staying with the fair as Senior Consultant.

Cox will continue to receive her current monthly salary and benefits in her new position through January 18th of next year.

The Fair Board says in that role, Cox will be available to provide input and assistance not only to an investigation into State Fair finances, but also other matters for which the board believes her experience, knowledge and historical perspective would prove invaluable.

The Board says it is grateful for Cox’s service and willingness to continue in a consulting role and is working diligently to secure the success of the 2020 Nebraska State Fair.
