Nebraska State Treasurer John Murante says he will seek re-election for a second 4-year term.
Murante, a Republican, was still a state senator from Gretna when he was elected treasurer in 2018. No one else in any party has announced plans to run for the post.
As treasurer, Murante has pushed for legislation to establish financial literacy courses in Nebraska elementary and high schools
. He also helped create and host a first-of-its-kind financial wellness webinar series aimed at public employees.
