A Chadron man was arrested Friday after a police investigation into a stolen credit card being used at a Chadron business led to the discovery of drugs in his home.

23-year old Tristan King is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and 2 drug infractions with bail set at $10,000. 20-year old old Gabrielle King was also cited for 2 drug infractions.

Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein says Officer Edward Grentz was able to gather enough information and evidence on the credit card case to get a search warrant to look for and seize the credit card from a Chadron residence.

When officers served the search warrant, Tristan King met them in the front yard and was also searched. The credit card was recovered, but officers also observed possible meth and drug paraphernalia – which led to a second search warrant.

Seized under the second warrant were suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia that included plastic bags, pipes, and rolling papers.

Chief Hickstein says the Chadron Police Department was helped with the investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol and WING – the Western Intelligence Narcotics Group
