SWANN Burning Brush Pit At Chadron Transfer Station Today

CHADRON – SWANN, the Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska, is burning one of the two brush pits at its Chadron transfer station. Smoke will be visible throughout the day and possibly into the weekend.

Only brush and wood debris is being burned, no garbage, and SWANN’s other brush pit will remain open during the burn.

The agency usually burns one of the piles each year and did burn one in February, but it has received a little more brush and wood debris than normal since then and executive director Jack Nemeth decided to take advantage of favorable conditions to burn the other pit today.
