The Busiest Day Of The Sioux County Fair Arrives

This is the busiest day of the 125th Sioux County Fair and Rodeo, with events running from 7 AM to midnight.

Starting things off at 7:00 are the Harrison Hot Trot, which begins at the junction of Hwys 20 and 29, and a Pancake Feed at the Harrison Fire Hall.

The Prairie Art Guild show runs from 8-3:00 in the VFW Hall, and the annual Sioux County Fair Parade, with the theme this year of Fun for the Whole Herd, begins at 9:30. We will broadcast the parade live on KCSR with Dennis Brown and Mike Kesselring providing the descriptions.

There’s a BBQ at the Harrison House Hotel after the parade, Art Hall at the Fairgrounds is open from 1-4:00, and the first of two rodeo performances, which include horse racing, begins at 2:00. Following the rodeo, also at the arena, is the 18th year of Hog Wrestling.

Wrapping up the day will be a BBQ and concert at the Rocky Top Dance Hall. Tickets are $10 to cover the BBQ, which starts at 6:30, and the dance, which runs from 8:00 to midnight with music by local favorites the Bar Flies.

The Sioux County Fair ends tomorrow with the second rodeo performance and more horse racing at 1:00 and the Demolition Derby at 6:30. In between, Art Hall is open 1-3:00 and check-in for the Derby starts at 4:00.
