Former President Donald Trump drew an enthusiastic full-house crowd Saturday when he brought his Save America rally series to the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper. Cars waiting to get into the parking lot extended for more than a mile at one point.
Trump was joined by his son, Donald Jr, ultra-conservative Republican House members Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert, and Harriet Hagement – his chosen challenger for incumbent Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney.
Calling the state “Ultra MAGA Country,” Trump told the crowd he was there to endorse Hagement and do everything he could to defeat what he called “that RINO Congresswoman Liz Cheney.
Democrats were about an equal target as the former president warned that “Joe Biden and the radical Democrats are destroying the nation before our very eyes” and would turn Wyoming into “a very poor state” because they’re “totally against your great source of wealth, the liquid gold right under your feet – it’s called energy.”
Trump’s rally came 2 days after Cheney officially filed for reelection and released a video focusing on her family’s 170-year connection to Wyoming and her commitment to the U-S Constitution no matter the opposition.
Cheney said she wouldn’t waiver, back down, or surrender to pressure or intimidation because “some things aren’t for sale – that’s the Code of the West and what Wyoming voters deserve and expect: truth, resolve, duty, integrity, and honor.
Trump won Wyoming with 70% of the vote in 2020 and has made Cheney one of his top targets ever since she rejected his claims of voter fraud, voted to impeach him over the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol, and agreed to serve on the House Jan 6 Committee.
I was there and it was a fantastic event by a MAN with a brain that still functions fantastic.
I’ve heard a lot about Democrats stealing the 2020 election, but Trump was the real thief. He tried to steal it anyway. This is what Trump told his MAGA people on Jan 6: “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” Right after that, his MIGA people stormed the Capitol and tried to steal the election. Clearly, Liz Cheney did the right thing by voting to impeach.
Trump ruined the GOP. His legacy will be a dark chapter in my grandchildren’s history books. I thank God that we only had four years under the guy. He will be too old and feeble to run again in 2024.
