Two Vehicle Crash West Of Hemingford Kills Crawford Mother And Daughter

     The Nebraska State Patrol says a Crawford mother and daughter were killed and 2 people hospitalized in a 2-vehicle accident Friday afternoon about 15 miles west of Hemingford.

     State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says 53-year old Hattie Hanks and 27-year old Rylee Hanks died at the scene on Hwy 71.

     An infant in the Hanks vehicle and the other driver were taken to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff with non-life threatening injuries. 

      Thomas says the accident occurred about 4:20 when an eastbound SUV driven Hattie Hanks crossed the center line of Hwy 71 and collided with a westbound pickup. The accident remains under investigation.

       Hattie Hanks was a beautician and owner of Excellence in Crawford and had also owned the Outback Beauty Salon in Harrison.
