Two Years Since Disappearance Of Wyo Man Who Grew Up Near Edgemont

Two

Tuesday was the second anniversary of the disappearance in Gering of a Wyoming man who grew up in the Edgemont area.

Chance Englebert was last seen July 6, 2019 as he left his in-laws home on foot about 7:30 on a Saturday night.

He was later identified on video cameras in nearby Terrytown, but multiple searches, large and small, over many months failed to turn up Englebert or any new leads on his possible whereabouts.

Gering Police Investigator Brian Eads told KNEB news on the anniversary that while no searches are being conducted, the case remains “very much active” with new tips being checked out every week.

Investigator Eads said tips and possible sightings still come in from around the country and he urged the public to continue to call or send in tips to the Gering police or an anonymous line set up by the Englebert family.

He said getting the same tip multiple times from multiple individuals can still be useful when connections are compared.

Englebert’s mother, Dawn Englebert, says she lives the nightmare everyday of not knowing where her son is and feels “we know less now than when he disappeared.”

She continues to hope that someone will eventually come forward with a lead that results in him being found. There are long-standing rewards for information

A Memorial Walk/Run is being held to help keep his name before the public with t-shirts for the event available for purchase.
