Nebraska could be headed to a special session to try to ban abortions now that the U.S. Supreme Court has given states that power, but it’s unclear whether one will actually happen or what type of restrictions might win enough support to pass.
Gov. Pete Ricketts says he would work with Speaker of the Legislature Mike Hilgers to try to find a way to ban abortions, but hasn’t yet committed to a special session.
Ricketts praised the ruling as “a victory for the people” and has said he would support a special session to outlaw the procedure in Nebraska.
Fellas, we’d fight to the death defending our medical rights and privacy from government interference. And yet, men who claim to be stalwart champions of individual liberty and limited government are lining up around the nation to implement unconscionably intrusive laws controlling women’s medical rights and privacy, all under the ludicrous guise they are defending the unborn. Balderdash!
The unborn are not legally recognized citizens with rights to defend. And nature, or God if you prefer, literally and irrefutably put child-bearing women in charge of the unborn. You are entitled to hold your religious beliefs, but the 1st Amendment explicitly prevents our secular government at any level from enforcing them upon others. To suggest otherwise is a hypocritical and un-American betrayal of the very liberty you righteously defend for yourself. You are free to loathe abortion, and to that end I highly recommend you undergo a vasectomy to take responsibility for your potential role in causing one. But make no mistake; it’s her body, it’s her right, it’s her choice. Don’t tread on her!

The science is clear when it states that at the moment of fertilization, a new living being is created. This scientific fact is not subjective to anyone’s religious or philosophical interpretation of when life begins. As a human being, the preborn baby has all the same inherent human rights as post-birth humans.
There is nowhere in the Constitution of the United States of America that specifies a right to abortion. One can look all over the text, but they won’t find any reference. The Supreme Court was right in acknowledging the mistakes made in Roe v. Wade.
For anyone going through an unplanned pregnancy, you don’t need to go through it alone. There are many people out there that are eager to help you with raising the child. Crisis pregnancy centers are some of them. Being pro-life is more than just defending preborn rights, it’s about helping the mother and child to thrive.
Agreed, and thank you for your comment!! Abortion is murder, period. An unborn child is a living human being with a beating heart. They should not be killed. If they are not considered a human being by some, why are people prosecuted for two counts of murder when a pregnant woman is killed?
