Wind Cave National Park Goes Cashless

Loading

Wind Cave National Park is now officially cashless – at least for all transactions with the National Park Service such as cave tours and campground fees.

Cash and check payments are no longer accepted, only those made using debit cards or credit cards from Visa, Discover, Master Card, Diners Club and American Express.

Wind Cave Chief of Interpretation Tom Farrell says much of the National Park system has been moving to a cashless system for multiple reasons.

Farrell points out that Wind Cave became partly cashless earlier this year when its online reservation system for cave tours went operational since payment is required at that time.

Farrell says whether collected by cash, check, card, or digital the cave tour and campground fees are an important part of Wind Cave’s project budget.
