Winter Storm Possible Early Next Week

The weather Impact Level for 12-13 October is: Low to Moderate

Here are the current weather event impact highlights:
• Forecast guidance continues to show the season’s first major winter storm system possibly impacting southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle.
• Impacts possibly beginning as early as Monday evening, but more likely Tuesday. Impacts could continue as long as Wednesday evening.
• Strong low moves into the Four Corners area Monday afternoon and into northeast Colorado Monday evening.
• Rain changing over to snow by early Tuesday morning with colder air behind the low.
• Very heavy snow and strong winds possible. Should the slower solution from one of our models come true, we could be looking at very heavy snow and strong winds persisting into Wednesday evening.

This is just a Heads Up for now. As we get closer to the event, the National Weather Service will begin issuing Situational Reports detailing more specific information.
