Wyo Man Arrested In Neb For Torrington Shooting

TORRINGTON, Wyo – Nebraska authorities arrested a Wyoming man just across the state line Friday for the shooting in Torrington of a Scottsbluff woman, but few details have been released.

Rural Radio News reports that Goshen County Sheriff Kory Fleenor says deputies responded Friday afternoon to a Torrington residence and found Deedra Strauch with a gunshot wound to the head.

They were told Strauch had accidentally been shot by Terry Anderson, but that he had left the scene. Anderson was arrested later in Henry.

Torrington Emergency Medical Services transported Strauch to the Torrington hospital, but she was then transferred to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Regional officials said Saturday morning that she was not listed as a patient.

Sheriff Fleenor says he has no other information to release at this time, calling the case an ongoing investigation.
