Wyoming Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement Signed

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – A Wyoming safety organization has announced that every county across the state can now get help from its neighbors in case of an emergency. Earlier this month, Laramie County became the final county to sign the Wyoming Inter-County Mutual Aid Agreement.

The Wyoming All Hazards Association says multiple counties previously helped each other through regional agreements, but the statewide agreement was made to clarify the operating plan by providing guidelines and outlining specifics including workers’ compensation, liability, and cost.

Officials say the agreement could help during weather events spanning across multiple counties and could also be used for special events that cross county lines or have an oversized impact on smaller counties.
