Tucked into Gov. Kristi Noem’s proposed state budget is $12-million dollars to replace the livestock building at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron that was destroyed by fire in October.
. The new livestock complex would be 200,000 square feet, double the size of the old one. Noem says the larger and more modern facility could attract regional and national events to Huron.
The new complex would be large enough for two rodeo areas and for both open class and 4-H beef cattle shows to be held at the same time. .
