Not Guilty Plea Entered In Fatal DUI On Reservation

 A Pine Ridge Reservation man has formally pleaded Not Guilty in federal court to involuntary

 A Pine Ridge Reservation man has formally pleaded Not Guilty in federal court to involuntary manslaughter charges from a May drunk driving accident in Pine Ridge.

      28 year-old Charles Merrival is charged with running over Leah White Bull while drunk.

      Merrival has been in custody since short after the accident, and Judge Daneta Wollmann at his court appearance denied a defense request for supervised release through the actual trial.

     Judge Wollmann said that because of Merrival’s history of drinking and driving, he is a danger to the community.
