Not Guilty Plea In Fatal Rapid City Hit-And-Run

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) – A Rapid City man charged with a fatal hit-and-run accident last month in Rapid City pleaded Not Guilty Friday in his latest court appearance

25-year old Zachary Fegueroa is charged while vehicular homicide, hit-and-run with injury, and driving under the influence in the Dec 6th accident that took the life of Joseph Martinez, a pedestrian who was crossing a street.

Police say Fegueroa left the scene and was arrested a short time later a few blocks away, thanks to eyewitness descriptions.

Prosecutors are also seeking to have Fegueroa declared a habitual offender because of a previous conviction for ingestion of a controlled substance
