Not Guilty Verdict In Roofing Hammer Murder

Loading

A jury in Rapid City needed just an hour of deliberation Thursday to find a man Not Guilty of 3 beatings in September 2020 that left one man dead and 2 women with permanent injuries.

Allac “A-J” Dismounts Thrice was charged with 1 count of 1st-degree murder in the death of Richard Montanez, and 2 counts of attempted 1st-degree murder in the attack on the women.

Dismounts Thrice had been in custody since for well over 2 years, but was released shortly after the jury returned its verdict to end the week-long trial that had been scheduled to last up to 3-weeks.

Prosecutors accused Dismounts Thrice of using a roofing hammer to attack all 3 victims while they slept – Montanez in one room and the women in another.

Montanez was allowing Dismounts Thrice, a friend of a friend, to temporarily stay with him. his 2 children, and the 2 women.

The defense argued that large amounts of drugs were being sold at the house and that someone who came there to buy drugs was likely the killer.

Prosecutors said after the Not Guilty verdicts were returned that they felt conflicting testimony by witnesses at the house were a contributing factor for the acquittal.

  1. 1 Dead 2 permanently disfigured and 1 guy with a hammer, doubtful he was defending himself, that much damage, would have taken some time, short trial less than 1 hr jury not guilty. someone got paid!!
