The Nebraska State Patrol is streamlining its organization and bringing all of its specialties into the Special Operations Division.
Special Operations will now include such varied specialties as the Aviation Support Division, Technical Crimes, SWAT, and the Police Service Dog Division.
With the reorganization comes the shifting of jobs for 2 NSP captains. Jason Scott takes over Special Operations after commanding Troop A in Omaha while Matt Sutter leaves the Lincoln-based Professional Standards Division to succeed Scott in Omaha.
NSP Superintendent Colonel John Bolduc says the restructuring reflects the critical nature of the work performed by the specialty divisions while the wealth of experience in numerous aspects of agency operations will serve the captains well in their new roles.
Scott, a 21-year veteran of NSP, has served in Patrol, Investigative Services, Carrier Enforcement, SWAT, Police Service Dogs, and the Commercial Interdiction Unit while Sutter, with NSP for 13 years, has served in Patrol, Executive Protection, and the Police Service Dog Division.
