NU Tells GOP Candidates For Governor Not To Use School Logo Or Imagery

Loading

The University of Nebraska has written 3 Republican candidates for governor asking them to stop using its logos and other imagery in campaign ads.

The letters went to Charles Herbster, State Senator Brett Lindstrom, and Jim Pillen – a member of the University’s Board of Regents.

University spokeswoman Melissa Lee says the letter was sent partly to avoid the perception that the school is endorsing any candidate.

As a tax-exempt government entity, the university is barred from participating in political campaigns or endorsing candidates.
