Oglala Lakota County Now Designated

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota reported 2 more COVID-19 deaths Thursday, one in Minnehaha County and the other in Pennington County. There have now been 66 deaths from the disease in the state.

State health officials also recorded 87 new cases, including the first in Custer County, bringing the state total to 5,247. There are 1,020 active cases and 86 people hospitalized by the virus.

. There were 18 new cases in Pennington County, 2 in Meade, and 2 in Oglala Lakota County – which has been elevated to “substantial community spread” status, the second-highest level of community spread.
