A Mitchell man has died from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle crash early Sunday on Highway 26 just west of Scottsbluff near the South Beltline Overpass.
34-year old Joshua Green was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:30 am accident.
Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Troy Brown says Green was westbound when his SUV went onto the north shoulder. He over-corrected and crossed all 4 lanes of Highway 26, left the roadway, went over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks, and struck an embankment.
Deputy Brown says Green was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
