Oops, We Missed One. Tom Phillips Filed For Mayor Of Crawford

Loading

In our story Wednesday on election filings in Dawes County, we overlooked one: Tom Phillips entered the race this week for mayor of Crawford, challenging incumbent Connie Shell. Since there are only 2 candidates, both advance to November.

That brings the number of contested races in November to 5: mayor of Crawford, Chadron and Crawford City Council, and Chadron and Crawford School Board.

There are only 3 contested races in the primary: the Chadron and Crawford City Councils, and Dawes County Commissioner District 2, where Travis Nitsch is challenging 2-term incumbent Vic Rivera in the Republican primary.

The city council positions are all non-partisan and at-large. In Chadron, 6 of the 8 candidates will advance to November as will 4 of the 5 Crawford Council candidates.
