Panhandle Records 4th COVID-19 DeathPosted by John AxtellDate: July 08, 20206 ViewsSCOTTSBLUFF – Panhandle Unified Command has confirmed the 4th COVID-19 death in the region, a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions.All 4 deaths have been Scotts Bluff County residents with pre-existing health issues.Unified Command also reported 3 new caronavirus cases, bringing the Panhandle total to 338, but with 10 more recovered cases, including 2 in Sheridan County, to bring that count to 220 – leaving just 106 active cases with 1 hospitalized.Unified Command has begun updating a weekly COVID-19 Risk Dial every Tuesday to provide for the Panhandle Public Health District jurisdiction.Each color incorporates federal and national guidance published by top public health experts and is coupled with specific guidance. The needle dropped slightly from last week to the lower third of the “moderate” range.Testing opportunities continue to grow in the Panhandle. Chadron Community Hospital now offers free tetsing Mondays and Fridays from 7-9am through the Test Nebraska program.
