Pelton Takes 12th At Class B State Golf

Maddi Pelton fired off a round of 94 on Tuesday to finish in 12th place at the Class B girls state golf meet at Monument Shadows in Gering with a two day score of 182.

After Monday’s opening round of 88 Pelton found herself alone in fifth, but had a harder time closing out holes in par as she did on Monday.

The 12th place finish is the tops for the four time state qualifier. She was 23rd a year ago with a score of 193, and took 28th her Sophomore season with a single day score of 101.

She was also a member of the state runner-up team back in 2017.

Anna Kelley of Scottsbluff defeated Gering’s Madi Schlaepfer in a two hole playoff after both had tied with rounds of 156.

Scottsbluff ran away from Omaha Duechesne Academy is the team standings 686 to 737.
