Refugee Welcome Circle

A second Ukrainian refugee family is coming to Chadron in March. They include a mother, three children, ages, 15, 8, and 2 years old, and her in-laws. The Refugee Welcome Circle of Northwest Nebraska is asking the community for donations to help cover airfare, personal items, clothing, and supplies for this family.

Contributions can be made at Homestead Bank (202 Main Street in Chadron) to the Chadron Community Foundation, under the Refugee Welcome Circle account. Checks made out to the Chadron Community Foundation should direct the contribution to the Refugee Welcome Circle account in the memo line. Our organization is a 501(c)(3) under the Chadron Community Foundation, so donations are tax deductible. If donor has an account at Homestead, a monthly donation can be arranged from that account to the Community Foundation.

In addition to financial contributions, we would be glad to receive a baby bed, stroller, booster seat, and new car seat. If you are interested in showing your support for the Ukrainian families, we have a large supply of 11 x 17 in. Ukrainian flags available for free will donations.  There will also be opportunities to volunteer once the family arrives in Chadron.
