Retired CSC Administrator Margaret Crouse Named To WNCC Board

SCOTTSBLUFF – One retired Chadron State College administrator is following another on the Western Nebraska Community College Board of Governors.

Dr Margaret Crouse was chosen to fill the District 1 vacancy caused when Dr. Merlyn Gramberg, resigned in December after 21 years on the board.

Although her appointment wasn’t formally announced until this past week, Crouse was sworn-in at the board’s February meeting. She’ll fill the remaining 2 years of Gramberg’s term for District 1, which covers all of Dawes, Sioux, and Sheridan Counties as well as part of Cherry.

Crouse has been involved in higher education for 36 years, most recently coming out of retirement to serve as Chadron State’s Interim Dean for the School of Professional Studies and Applied Sciences.

She says she’s excited to follow Gramberg because she’s a strong believer in vocational career technical education and in giving all students an opportunity for a career-based education – adding that she feels she can help the Panhandle grow through her work on the WNCC board.

Crouse received her Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University before earning a master’s and a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University.
