A Celebration of Life for 74-year old Rick Dale will be Sat, June 19, from 2-5:00 CT at the Seven Valleys Senior Center at 105 North Grand Avenue in Callaway, Neb
A brief program will be held at 3:00 p.m. and all are invited to share their favorite memories of Rick. Per his request, casual attire is requested.
Also per his wishes, he has been cremated
Memorials are suggested to the GRACE Cancer Foundation or to the donor’s choice.
Rick Dale was born in Gordon, NE, on April 21, 1947, to Dick and Lucille Dale. He passed away May 24, 2021, at Bergan Hospital in Omaha with his loving family by his side.
Rick grew up in Martin, SD, graduating from Bennett County High School in 1965 before attending Chadron State College for two years.
He married Linda Lane on August 20, 1966, in Kansas City and to this marriage were born daughter Lisa and son Rich. The family lived south of Martin until 1986 when Rick transferred to Ogallala to work for the Production Credit Association.
Rick married Bonnie Simonson in 2012 and along with that union he gained a stepdaughter and son-in-law. Rick and Bonnie lived in Keystone, NE, then moved to Callaway, where Rick became President of what was then FirsTier Bank.
After his retirement from banking, Rick kept his cattle, horses and other animals on his place that he really enjoyed. He helped out hauling corn and silage, transporting livestock, bank inspections or whatever else needed done to stay busy.
Rick loved the country way of life, watching rodeos on TV, and keeping up with the sport, but his greatest joy was by far his grandchildren and he enjoyed going to their activities.
His granddaughters loved seeing his face in the stands at their high school and college volleyball games. He had an amazing smile, great sense of humor and a deep love for his family and friends and he will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Rick leaves behind daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Kim Willman, Grand Island, NE; stepdaughter and husband Suzie and Ross Wahlgren of Gothenburg, NE; granddaughters Daryn, Kamryn and Lauryn Willman; grandsons Casey, Grant, Reid and Seth Wahlgren; sister Lynne Mooney, Piedmont, Linda Dale, Bonnie Dale; “bonus” son and daughter Dallas and Carmen Kime; “bonus” granddaughters Drew Kime Hoefer and McKenna Kime Beckman.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog Chase and many other relatives and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by son Rich; parents Dick and Lucille Dale; grandparents Harry & Marian Cherry; John and Eva Dale; and his favorite horse Bat.
