Rotary, Knights Of Columbus Join For Food Box Distribution At St Patrick’s Catholic In Chadron

The members of the Chadron Rotary Club and Chadron Knights of Columbus say they’ve had a tremendous response today to a food box distribution in the parking lot at St Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Rotary Club President Jacob Rissler says the distribution, working also with the Hot Meals USA and USDA Farmers-to-Families programs, is open to everyone with no income or other need-based requirements.

Rissler says Rotary International’s District 5630, covering central and western Nebraska, has held several similar distributions this year through the USDA Farmers-to-Families program.

He’s pleased the local Rotarians are able to work with the local council of Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization on the distribution.

A number of Chadron High School seniors are also helping with the distribution, which also pleases Rissler, director of development for the Chadron State Foundation.

Although the food distribution began at 9:00, it’s still underway. Simply drive into the St. Patrick’s Church parking lot from Spruce Street on the east and exit onto Cedar Street on the west.
