SD Officials Say Pandemic Seems To Be Easing, But Remain Cautious

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota health officials say the coronavirus pandemic seem to be easing in the state, but that residents must remain cautious to prevent a new spike in infections.

They warn that attending summertime gatherings could increase the risk of transmitting or catching the virus.

There were 60 new cases Thursday morning, pushing the total to 6,479 while 3 more deaths bring that total to 87.

The Thursday figures included 7 new cases in Pennington County, 5 in Oglala Lakota , 2 in Fall River, and one each in Todd, Meade, and Bennett. One of the deaths was a Pennington County resident, bringing the county total to 13.
