While some die-hard Donald Trump supporters in the U-S House say they will try to overturn the presidential election results on January 6 when a joint session of Congress meets to count the electoral votes, South Dakota’s 2 U-S senators oppose the idea.
John Thune, the Senate Majority Whip – the GOP’s #2 leadership position – says such a move would be fruitless.
Thune told reporters Monday “In the end, at some point you have to face the music and I think once the Electoral College settles the issue, it’s time for everybody to move on.”
South Dakota’s other senator, former Gov Mike Rounds, pulled no punches – saying “Vice President Biden is the president-elect based on the electoral count.”
