Seven Mustangs Clinch Spots At State Track

The C9 district track meet in Mitchell almost went according to script for Gordon-Rushville on Thursday.

The Mustang boys came away with four first place medals.

Ellis Livingston took top honors in the 100m and Jace Freeseman won the 400m. Atreyu Thorsen swept the shot put and discus titles.

Aydon McDonald was the other Gordon-Rushville boys state qualifier with a runner-up finish in the 300m hurdles.

Mckinley Grover was the only Gordon-Rushville girls champion in the shot put.

Tyrah American Horse was 2nd in both the 1600m and 3200m runs.

Haley Johnson grabbed a spot at state by claiming silver in both the 800m and long jump.

Additional qualifiers will be released on Friday.
