For the second time in less than a month, the U.S. Geological Survey has detected a small earthquake in South Dakota.
This time, though, instead of being in the north-central portion it was in the extreme southeast.
The USGS recorded a 3.1 magnitude earthquake about 3.7 miles north-northeast of Tyndall, near the Missouri River about 27 miles northwest of Yankton at 7:55 a.m. MST Monday
The USGS reported a 3.2 magnitude earthquake near Bowdle in north-central South Dakota on Dec. 8, 2020.
