Southern Part Of Yellowstone National Park Reopens To Visitors

MAMMOTH, Wyo. (AP) – Tourists were allowed back into Yellowstone National Park Monday for the first time in nearly two months as the east and south entrances in Wyoming opened for day-use.

The 3 Montana entrances remain closed as does the West Yellowstone entrance.

Yellowstone Superintendent Cam Sholly says some people had camped overnight in their vehicles to secure places in line to enter while others arrived as early as 6 a.m.

Sholly says only Yellowstone’s Lower Loop, which includes Old Faithful and most of the park’s other geysers, is open to visitors at this time.
