Special Chadron, Crawford City Council Meetings To Close Out FY 2020 Books

The Chadron and Crawford city councils are both meeting in special session today to pay as many outstanding bills as possible before their new fiscal years begin on Thursday and any still unpaid bills would come out of the new budget.

The Crawford Council meets first at 12:15 at the Community Building and while paying the bills and related budget transfers are the primary reasons for the session, the agenda includes a couple other items.

Those include how to deal with the operating deficit of the city-owned Legend Buttes Golf Course and the purchase of a 14-year old 4WD pickup to replace one totaled by last month’s hail storm.

The Crawford council is also expected to approve removing a number of trees at the cemetery determined to be nuisances and to sell them as Christmas trees.

The Chadron City Council meets at 4:15 in City Hall with just one item on the agenda – approval of the final claims for the current fiscal year.
