Alliance Claims B7 Crown Over Ogallala

The Alliance Spartans drove in 14 runs on 8 hits as they cruised to the B7 Area championship on Tuesday night with a 14-2 win over Ogallala.

Alliance jumped on the board with 6 runs in the 1st inning and then put up 4 runs a piece in the 4th and 5th.

Ogallala had 6 hits but couldn’t take advantage of 3 Alliance errors with single runs in the 3rd and 5th.

The Spartans now advance to this weekend’s state tournament in Crete and will meet the Area 3 winner, either Fort Calhoun or Waterloo-Valley, in the first round on Saturday.

Imperial had little trouble in the C7 Area title game with a 10-3 victory over Valentine.

Six runs in the first two innings helped the Horns control the game, giving up single runs in the 1st, 4th, and 7th innings.

Imperial will play in the Class C state tourney this weekend in Palmer.
