Hickman didn’t leave any doubt in Wednesday’s Class B American Legion Senior state baseball tournament championship game, clobbering Alliance 14-1 in 5 innings.
The Spartans were going to have to beat Hickman twice to win the title, but the Titans dropped 9 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to blow open a 5-1 game.
Alliance struggled at the plate and in the field finishing with more errors than hits, 4 and 3.
The biggest highlight of the game came in the bottom of the first when Hickman’s Ryan Gouldin blasted a three run bomb.
In the Class C Championship game Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus walked off Shelby-Osceola-Stromburg 2-1 to complete a perfect 31-0 season.
