Chadron State College volleyball players Amelia Berg and Rylee Greiman were named to the Steel City Showcase All-Tournament Team, which was announced by CSU-Pueblo head volleyball coach Austin Albers on Monday.
The pair helped the Eagles to a split of the weekend’s matches to open the 2021 season, defeating Minnesota-Crookston and Fort Hays State in straight sets, and losing to the University of Mary and Rollins College in five.
Berg led CSC in scoring for the weekend, racking up 2.88 points per set on 41 kills, six total blocks, and a service ace. Her 19 kills against Mary on Friday were the most by an Eagles player since Greiman’s 23 on October 4, 2019. She also led the team with a .247 hitting percentage.
After the weekend, Greiman now ranks fourth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with 4.56 digs per set, after contributing 73 in Pueblo. She added 13 set assists from her back row position, and scored on a pair of aces.
Chadron State will visit Kearney, Nebraska, on Friday and Saturday, where they will play four more times in the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic.
